These are some of the things that set my practice apart from the rest. Among these are features that help psychotherapy run more smoothly and efficiently.
Secure Client Portal
My clients have access to a secure, encrypted portal for communication, paperwork, and assessments. I also use it to share resources and information. If we agree to work together, I'll create your account and give you access to your own profile.
You can fill out your paperwork remotely, from the comfort of your home computer or handheld device, before the very first psychotherapy appointment. That way you and I can get the initial stuff out of the way, and make the best use of our time together.
As a complimentary service, my client portal can automatically send you an e-mail reminder of our appointment 48 hours in advance. That way, if something comes up and you realize there is a conflict, this will make it easier for you to reach out so we can reschedule.
Data Driven Treatment
Research shows that using assessment tools to "take the temperature" of how you're doing can make therapy more effective, letting us know if we're on the right track or need to change course. I can also provide you with a monthly report so you can see where we're making progress, and make an informed decision about your care.
If you have a primary care doctor, psychiatrist, or nurse practitioner, I can, with a release of information from you, reach out to coordinate care. This can be as simple as keeping your primary care physician up to date with quarterly reports of your progress, to providing consultation on your well-being. In the same way "it takes a village," so too can a team approach enhance your care.
Psychotherapy is at its best when you take our sessions and put them into practice in your day to day life. I can send you personally tailored exercises for you to apply what you learn in session more efficiently. You can also receive summaries of our session to help you remember the content of what we talked about, and provide greater continuity to our work week to week.
Assistance with Out of Network benefits
Although I do not take insurance, I can assist you with your Out of Network benefits. I'd provide a "superbill" of all paid appointments for you to submit to your insurance. If you choose to use Better to file your Out of Network benefits for you, you can submit the superbill to Better directly, or I can submit it to them for you. That way, some of the money you pay for your sessions goes back into your piggy bank.
